Anya is a beautiful girl - mostly white with a little gray on her back. She's also very playful, goofy and happy and has just a wonderful personality.

I had to remind myself at times her first year in harness that she was only a yearling. She's that good. She runs like she's been doing this for years; always a tight tug, always eager to go, and works and digs as hard as the males on the team.

Anya began running lead a lot in her second season in harness, keeping pace with Tristan and becoming my 2nd main leader next to him (Magik was off the team that year raising a litter). Still, she had her off moments and I didn't think she actually understood the commands all that well. However in the last leg of the Can-Am 250 that year I had no choice but to try and run her in single lead for a short time; Tristan was sporting a sore wrist, and all my other leaders had been dropped from the team. I went up to Anya and said to her, "What do you think, girl? Can you handle doing this by yourself for a short time? I promise it'll only be for a little while, until Tristan works out the soreness."

Well Anya proved to me that not only could she handle running single lead, but that she actually SHONE while doing so! She executed every command I issued on the spot, kept the team going at a fantastic pace despite their tiredness, never faltered for a moment, and in fact looked so proud to be leading all by herself that I never did put Tristan back up with her. Anya brought the team all the way to the finish line by herself in single lead. What an amazing girl she is!!!
